Without an assistant, it’s virtually impossible to keep a mixing bowl stationary while performing both tasks. For users with arthritis or decreased mobility the challenge is even greater. A2 decided to solve the slipping, sliding or tipping challenges that consumers face in the kitchen when using everything from mixing bowls to cutting boards to cheese graters.
Solution After many hours of observing user behavior in the kitchen, A2 looked to ingenuity to solve the problem. The resulting Stixx Suctionware™ is an entire line of kitchen products for Design for Living. The cornerstone of the line is a unique suction base including a patented suction mechanism that stixx™ to countertops for no slipping, sliding or tipping. As the lever is pulled counter clockwise, a rubber diaphragm lifts and locks into place, forming a powerful partial-vacuum that bonds the suction base to any flat, non-porous surface. This framework yielded a product line including a corkscrew, cutting board, grater, slicer, mixing bowl, salad spinner, towel holder, and assorted babyware.
